I do these custom portraits in more of a realistic style. I start with the wood panel and leave the background natural. Then I render the pet’s likeness as close as possible in a two tone underlayer. The colours are achieved by using layers and layers of transparent coloured glazes. Each piece is protected with a gloss varnish.
